Pastor Jonathon Phillips - Senior Pastor

Pastor Jonathon Phillips has been the Senior Pastor at Emmett Community Bible Church since August 2008. With a heart for ministry and a passion for serving others, he leads the congregation with wisdom and grace. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Ministerial Education from God's Bible College, equipping him with the knowledge and skills to guide the church community.

For 25 years, Jonathon has been happily married to his wife, Stephanie. Together, they share a commitment to their faith and the mission of the church, supporting various ministries and outreach programs.

Pastor Josh Williams-Associate Pastor

Sarah is committed to nurturing the faith of our youngest members through engaging activities, educational programs, and a caring approach. She creates a welcoming environment where children can grow in their relationship with God.

Terry Gardner-Worship Leader

Terry Gardner, the Worship Director at Community Bible Church, is an accomplished pianist with a degree in Piano Performance and a Bachelor of Music from Boise State. His deep love for music is matched by his passion for leading the congregation in corporate worship that encourages a meaningful connection with God. Through carefully chosen worship music, Terry aims to guide people to reflect on God’s greatness and His role as a loving Father, creating an atmosphere where worship draws the heart closer to God.

Terry Gardner

Head Trustee

Terry Gardner serves as the Head Trustee at Community Bible Church, bringing decades of experience and commitment to his role. He ensures that the church facilities are well-maintained and works closely with the Senior Pastor and fellow trustees to guide the spiritual direction of the church, fostering good stewardship of the resources entrusted to the church. Currently, Terry is the general contractor for the church's new building project, overseeing every detail with care and dedication.

A lifelong member of Emmett CBC, Terry has attended for 65 years. Alongside his trustee role, he teaches Sunday school, sharing his faith and knowledge with the church community. Outside of church, Terry is a skilled general contractor specializing in custom homes. He and his wife, Carol, enjoy spending time on the water, with hobbies that include boating and water skiing.

Trustee

Ted True serves as a trustee at Community Bible Church, where he helps ensure the church facilities are well-maintained and collaborates with the Senior Pastor and fellow trustees to guide the church's spiritual direction and stewardship of resources. In addition to his trustee role, Ted is actively involved with the worship team, serves on the men’s ministry committee, and acts as the treasurer for Trail Life Troop 1199, contributing his leadership skills to the Navigators program within Trail Life.

Professionally, Ted is the owner of Temore Construction, a company specializing in custom remodels. He and his wife, Laurel, enjoy a life enriched by fellowship, with Ted’s favorite pastimes including reading, camping, and hiking.

Phyliis Vernon

Board Secretary

Phylis Vernon serves as the secretary of the Community Bible Church board, playing a vital role in maintaining the church’s records. She takes minutes during board meetings, prepares packets for the annual meetings, and ensures that the church’s membership list is up-to-date. Beyond her board responsibilities, Phylis is also the troop coordinator for the church's American Heritage Girls troop, and she assists in the IT department by running the computer during Sunday morning worship. Her dedication extends to teaching Sunday school, helping with the youth group, and serving on the ladies' ministry committee.

Since joining CBC in 2007, Phylis has been a constant presence in the church’s various ministries. Outside of church, she works for the Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children as a Kindergarten Transition Specialist, partnering with early learning programs and school districts to create smooth transitions to kindergarten for children and families.

Phylis enjoys hiking, camping, crocheting, cross-stitching, reading, gardening, and spending time with her beloved dogs. She and her husband, Rus, are actively involved in both church and community life.

Carol Gardner

Carol Gardner serves as the Church Treasurer at Community Bible Church, where she manages all financial records, tracks donations, and deposits funds. Each month, she provides the board with comprehensive financial reports and shares an annual update with the church membership. Beyond her role as treasurer, Carol is actively involved in the church’s music ministry, women’s ministry, and teaches Sunday school.

A skilled pianist, Carol also offers piano lessons, sharing her love for music with others. In her free time, she enjoys reading and exploring interior decorating projects, adding a personal touch to everything she does.

Capital Campaign Director

John Morton serves as the Capital Campaign Director at Community Bible Church, where he plays a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of the church's building project. With a keen eye for detail, John oversees cash flow and budgeting, while also leading efforts to raise necessary funds through grants, loans, and generous donors.

John and his wife, Dorene, have been faithful members of Emmett CBC for five years. Their commitment to the church is evident not only through John's leadership in the capital campaign but also through his active involvement in Operation Christmas Child, a program that brings joy to children in other countries by providing them with shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts.

A retired farmer, John continues to stay connected to his roots by importing farm equipment from Italy. When he’s not busy with church projects or his business, you can find John enjoying the slopes, indulging in his passion for skiing.

Nannett Wood

Nursery Director

Nanette Wood serves as the Lay Leader for the nursery at Community Bible Church. She is dedicated to ensuring that the youngest members of the congregation are well cared for by recruiting and scheduling volunteers to assist during Sunday school and worship services.

Nanette has been a faithful member of CBC for an impressive 38 years. In addition to her service at the church, she works as a public school bus driver. Nanette and her husband, Dan, have been married for 38 years. In her free time, she enjoys sewing, gardening, and camping, reflecting her love for creativity and the outdoors.
